    Power = battery lifetime: wifi 1-2 days max, zigbee 3-5 years max

    Bit rate: wifi 54 Mb/s, Zigbee .25 Mb/s

    Range: wifi 100 M, zigbee 100 M, zigbee pro 1000 M

    Routing/topology options: wifi: access point with clients, extensible via wired ethernet zigbee: gateway with mesh routing (can extend to 1000 M), also extensible via router nodes  which can provide redundancy
