NJ12's Walt Kane presents his second piece on Scott Rumana's sleazy solar scheme. This segment reveals that apart from the conflicts of interest inherent in a Mayor with a no bid deal to sell energy to his own town, Rumana unambiguously broke the law. In 2009, 2008 and 2007 -- in other words, since becoming an Assemblyman -- Rumana FAILED to list his ownership in Wayne Energy Corporation in section 9 of the NJ Legislature's mandatory personal financial disclosure form. NJELEC says this information should have been disclosed.
Moreover, as Kane put it, that "may not have be the only time Rumana and Wayne Energy didn't tell the whole truth about the arrangement."
Kane also brought up how lawyer for Wayne and Wayne Energy -- McManimon & Scotland's William Northgrave - failed to report Rumana's dual roles.
Finally, when the Department of Community affairs stated that Rumana provided detailed information how his "apparent conflict of interest was addressed."
Rumana's response was found lacking. According to Kane, "The AG's office doesn't seem convinced saying quote 'The concerns are not so easily dismissed.'"
