  • @reno93535 Really? There weren't good centers playing in the 90s? Are you out of your mind? David Robinson, Hakeem Olajuwon, Shaquille O'Neal, Dikembe Mutombo, Patrick Ewing, Alonzo Mourning, ring any bells? Even guys like Vlade Divac, Rik Smits, and Elden Campbell were leagues ahead of most of the centers you see in today's league. The 90s was the era of great centers. Wilt is the GOAT stats-wise, but there's no way to tell for sure how good he would have been in Jordan's day.

  • Slow? He was a track star at Kansas. Ran the 440, 880, 100, shot put, triple jump, and won the Big-8 tournament high jump 3 consecutive years.

  • @SolidSnakeRules:

Imagine the battles Wilt and a young Shaq would've had.

  • @googgull possibly but howard can just walk over anyone really no one can really guard him efficiently aside from maybe like tyson chandler and even ben wallace

  • @kixmgc Oh yeah, for sure, no question he's better than Gasol. I'm just saying Gasol has more skill, he's got left and right hooks, better jumper, a few more moves. But Howard is much more athletic, much better rebounder, and his defense is miles ahead.

  • @googgull yeah he doesnt but hes the best now and no way is gasol better than him lol

  • @kixmgc Dwight is a great athlete, but he doesn't have the overall skill that the 90s centers had on offense. Gasol actually might be the most skilled big man on offense, but he's nowhere close to Hakeem, Robinson, and young Shaq as an athlete.

Really the 90s it was the best time in history for great center play. There were so many great battles between giants, and the game isn't like that anymore. But this is a great era for shooting bigs, like Dirk, Durant, and LeBron.

  • Not only were there more great centers in the 1990s than any other time, but the quality of play was at its peak. Especially guys like Hakeem, Robinson, and Ewing, had all around game, from shooting touch to footwork, that you don't see today. AND you had great defense - Mutombo, Olajuwon, Mourning, and Robinson were rock solid, and Shaq was a great intimidator and people forget how athletic he was in the younger days. Nobody in today's game is on that level right now.

  • you serious

  • alot of them kobe dunked on /watch?v=V9C8wX8mF80&feature=channel_video_title

  • @reno93535 Wilt was garbage he was just bigger than everyone...Kareem is way better...and guys like David Robinson and Hakeem would treat Wilt like a bitch down low...Imagine what Shaq would have done to Wilt??? LMAO...Destroyed him...like a rag doll...MJ is the GOAT...MAGIC is SECOND...BIRD is THIRD.

  • THE 90s had the MOST Centers!!!

Dream went against guys from Moses, Kareem, Walton, Ewing, Admiral, Mutumbo, Daugherty, and Shaq.

    60s - Chamberlain, Russell, Thurmond

70s - Alcindor, Moses, Walton, Reed

80s - Jabbar, Olajuwon, Ewing, Robinson, Parish

90s - Olajuwon, Shaq, Ewing, Robinson, Mutombo

Legends like Dream, Ewing, and Admiral played in both decades!

The 90s were Jordan's, but the decade of the Center.
