Syracuse University, IBM, New York State launch one of the worlds greenest data centers—a showcase of energy efficient design and function. It is anticipated to use about 50 percent less energy than a typical data center in operation today. A typical data center uses up to 30 times more energy than a typical office building, and that energy use is doubling every five years. Improving data center energy efficiency offers significant energy cost savings and environmental benefits to organizations and businesses.

  • I think the future in datacenters is lots of small datacenters .... autosupplying themself from wind, solar, seas energy, HHO ecc. In order to have al less as possible heat to dissipate, we need a lot of efficiency ! but NOW the branch is still growing... not LATER when all will be done !!! NOW !
