You can say that again. This was pure dance music with no violence and obscenities. I still can identify with such smooth and quality music. This was during my high school days and house was the deal. One love...by the way I am from Zimbabwe.

  • ♥when I'm with you, I believe, that your love is true...

when we love, you turn me out, you know what to do...

visions really blow my mind, fantasizing all the time...♫

♥when your body's next to me, I begin to sway...

when we touch I lose control, now you know what's next...

fantasizing all the time, move your body next to mine...♫

  • Take me to the Club that plays these tunes...

  • chitalian22, you're right. I was there and I did live it. And you are missing the point. At that time, house music was not a defined genre. Anything that the dj's mixed was deemed house music. Ran Jam's Black Betty wasn't house music it was southern rock, but when it was seamlessly mixed into the the wonderful stew that is house music than it became so. The same could be said for New Order etc...

  • @natgirrl lol I don't think it has anything to do with discriminating against Kraftwerk. They're electronic, not house. And btw just because you lived it and called it house doesn't mean you're right. If you study music you would know that Kraftwerk is not house. Kinda like how American's say soccer but the rest of the world says Futbol, Kind of.(Key phrase)

  • @chitalian22. I am from Chicago and grew up on house music. Kraftwerk, Giorgio Miroder, Millie Jackson, Diana Ross, Yellow, Lawanda Paige,(that's right, aunt ester from Sanford and Son), Dr Buzzards Original Savannah Band, New Order and everything in between. We did not discriminate, as long as it blended and was good to dance to, we called it House.

  • @marijnc Kraftwerk wasn't house music. They were just considered electronic.

  • @marijnc House music was/is a LOT more popular in Europe than in the US. I think there's just more house in Europe. The best old stuff comes from NY and Chicago, though.

  • @RDG23HVY it's called "let no man put asunder," it's a quotation from the Bible.

  • @sunnyxol gotta love how he rhymes "sway" with "next"

  • @RDG23HVY it didn't really explode until the UK rave scene exploded in 87 though did it...

  • Real house started in N.Y underground , chicago dj's like myself we made it main stream in the 80's...EXAMPLE : let no man put us under;;; old old ny tune.....
