Liq Hok is The Mechanics of Strength. Liq Hok is 1 + 1 = 10. Sifu Jimmy applies Liq Hok to move a much heavier, stronger and younger Guy with minimal use of strength. "It's Not Strength, It's Liq Hok!!"

  • "hok" = 合 ?

  • Hi Ashe,

    We decided not to bother about literal translations. If we do, we will always end up talking about dragons and phoenixes and tigers. We end up in a box.

    There is a big bio-mechanics part to Liq Hok. We have to internalise that part first. Sifu says, two years. Then comes the internal strength part which sifu says is a life time study.

  • Mutsao,

    Note taken, wishing u all the best & see u next.

    I'm now in preparation mode for the 2 coming PH competition in August & December 09.

    Even though I'm into 45 this yrs but after 2 + yrs in ILC, as days goes by, my stability, & ability to take on high impact direct force & upper hand is now getting into place or now qualified to tell others that I m a ILC practicianer.

  • hey victor,

    thanks for that! we use the term "mechanism of body movement". now i know where it came from! =-D

    i think liq hok rolls off the tongue a little easier!

  • hey Victor, thx for letting me know this was up. I loved meeting you guys! I hope that I can get the opportunity to visit again sometime.

  • ashe,

    Sifu speak cantonese , so

    Liq Hok supposed to be Strength Mechanics/Study. or 力Liq=Strength

    学Hok= Mechanics / Study.

    We need to unify the terminology for future

    reference.

    RDgs!
