At Markomm - it is our business to keep on top of Internet marketing. Online marketing (while it has been around for quite some time) is still a relatively new way for businesses to market. For a lot of businesses, online advertising is a new frontier for them.

Just like you, our clients want to know how to understand their Google analytic reports more efficiently. A recent question that has come up is, "What does 'not set' mean on my Google Analytic Report?"

In this video, one of Markomm's Google Certified Account Managers, shows you what the term, 'not set' means.

When you employ an overall effective online marketing strategy it is important to be casting a wide net. People do internet searches on both common terms as well as very unique 'long tail' terms.

Yes, as part of your online advertising program you want to be targeting people that are using the most common search terms, however, an overall effective internet marketing campaign will also include targeting people that are searching on a very unique search term.

The interesting part comes when you look at the data. Ironically enough, the people that search on the more unique terms have a higher tendency to be buyers and paying customers. They are looking for something very unique and when you can tap into that (as part of your internet marketing strategy) you are heading for a pot of gold.
