Rare colour film footage of the bomb damage inflicted on London during World War II has surfaced on the eve of the 70th anniversary of the Blitz. The film was found in the attic by the family of an air raid warden who shot it on home movie equipment in use in the 1940s. The dramatic pictures shows the destruction of several London landmarks, including the flagship John Lewis store on Oxford Street. The film was released by Westminster Council to mark the anniversary of the devastating German bombing campaign that began on 7 September 1940 and continued until May 1941, killing tens of thousands of civilians.

  • @samm3004 well well look who it is, the same sad fuck from another blitz video posting exactley the same comment, you lacking the ability to think up any new material kinda confirms my theory that your the worlds stupidest fuck hole :D

  • Its amazing to see these videos in colour...really wierd and brings it all to life alot more, more realistic. Really wierd seeing London like this...in a way it looks more civilised and peaceful than today, a real community feel to it. I say peaceful because through all the bombs, lives continued quietly. Amazing people.

  • For they sow the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind. Hosea 8:7

  • England is worlds asshole :D

  • @Asfasveaer I'm sorry, but that is just a load of crap. It's honestly a wonder that nobody took direct action against them sooner; they invaded and annexed several entire European countries without consequence, thanks in large part due to the incompetent Neville Chamberlain's policy of appeasement at all costs. When Britain entered the war as the sole major opposition to Nazi Germany (discounting France....) it was as a reaction to transgressions against her allies, not aggression.

  • @Asfasveaer Britain declared war on Germany because of the outright crimes Hitler was going to execute

  • Most people have NO CLUE that Britain declared war on Germany first, not the other way around. Maybe Britain is responsible for escalating the war, not the Germans?

  • you can smash are windows Hitler, but you cant brake our spirit, This was painted on top of a factory during ww2 in london

  • @mrbarleymob It was in description when i first saw this movie on yahoo that it was a hand camera , moron
