Did Lady Gaga borrow from Cars by Gary Numan?

There is no musical star bigger than Lady Gaga is right now. But does her hit song "Paparazzi" sound familiar?

Hmmm, its a tough one, I think theres definitely similarities but if Gaga (or more likely her producers) did rip off Cars then theyve definitely tried to turn the notes inside out so its a different tune but with the same rythm but then as wild horse points out a good majority of pop music is a 4/4 beat rhythm so realy thats not enuf alone to say she's ripping off Cars, the Sugar Babes were more open about ripping off Are Frends Electric and nobody particualrly cared, cars is betr than this tho

the biggest percentage of pop is a 4/4 rythm you could fit many unsimmilar tunes seem to fit the 4/4 rythm

both have huge followings it is unfair to say one is better than the other

i'm a huge numan fan and am still going to his concerts but nevertheless gagga is still superb in her own way !!

Before I knew who Lady Gaga was, or what she looked like, I assumed the songs I heard on the radio were Madonna (on a bad day). When I saw the video of her Monsters tour I was taken by how much the show resembled Madonna's stage shows. She has a few novel ideas such as the guitar keyboard thing but musically she is about as exceiting as Whitney Houston. Gary Numan was an innovator, she is a clone. I would think her fan base is mainly people who have not heard or seen Madonna.

Actually Papparazzi starts out with the same riff as Numan's 'Metal...' but the vocal is totally the 'Cars' synth line
