As the spice routes and the silk roads opened up, Indian civilization grew, enriched by contact and exchange. Beginning in Kerala, Michael Wood journeys on an old wooden sailing boat plying its trade from South India to the Gulf, and tells how the spice trade with the Rome opened India up to the world - as well as giving us a recipe for dormouse stuffed with peppercorns!

  • @subroto81 - Europeans biased? C'mon...Europeans can't be biased. They invented everything. Did everything. They invented the sun and the moon, sunset and sundown. Just look at all their movies. They can fly, stop bullets. They're simply incredible!!!!!

  • Yes Indeed it is a very inaccurate presentation. Why this documentary provides such false facts and misleading the viewers ? It only shows the western efforts to distort Indian history.

  • Very innacurate presentation, showing a definite european bias the old aryan invasion theory that has been dissproved finally keeps popping out. Also indian civilization is much older than this show said.
