I found these dolphins a huge disappointment. Mostly because every time they came to the shore, some CALM hippie would come running out yelling at us to stay away from them.
I won't be going to Monkey Mia or Denham again.

Seeing the dolphins at Monkey Mia is one of those once-in-a-lifetime experiences. To my knowledge there's only one other place in the world that this happens. If you ever get the chance, GO there, it is just an AMAZING EXPERIENCE. But please respect the dolphins and the park rangers - if it weren't for the rangers we probably wouldn't be able to experience this phenomenon anymore!

Thanks so much for posting this - it brought back so many memories. I was at Monkey Mia 15 years ago (gah, nearly half my life ago already!) and it was just about the most amazing thing ever. The other poster is right - you never forget this experience. Cheers!

i was fortunate enough to go there when I was about 7 years old ... young, but you NEVER forget an experience like this, it was simply magical - Monkey Mia is the only place in the world where this happens.
