I saw him sing this song from the side of the stage in '76. He raised his hand in the air when he said from "Purple Mountains Majesty" and I looked out over the crowd and they were in total silence. You could hear a pin drop. I was young then but of all the times I saw Elvis I think that what was the most mesmorizing moment. I grew up around southern preachers and gospel singers and I've never seen a crowd so intranced by anything.
