Those of you who are old enough should remember this. This is an ad broadcast in Ireland in the late 80s and early 90s. For some reason everyone always seems to remember it. Enjoy.

  • @usagoodbyeisayhello jes merry xmas

  • Does anybody happen to know what year this ad was first broadcasted?? Or even how I might go about finding out??

  • my fathers fave ad

  • @ironbar100 I understand that. The Church in Ireland is about nothing but control and Ireland's nothing but a kleptocracy. The only difference between now and 20, 30 or 40 years ago and today is that those at the top finally crossed the line. Many of them have to be arrested, imprisoned or killed. It's sad that it's come to this, but their downfall will be of their own making. The media has much to answer for.

Stay strong. Have a Happy Christmas and all the best in 2012.

  • @usa goodbye i say hello When this add was first screened it was a time of mass unemployment emigration & poverty.Vile things were going on in state institutions, schools ,religious orders and they were allowed to go unchecked by the Irish rulers of the time.To speak of culture Irish culture is slowly but surely being diluted by the powers that be. We now have thousands of East Europeans and all kinds replacing the Irish that have to leave in search of employment and a decent life.

  • @ironbar100 I couldn't disagree with you more. This ad brings back very special memories for me, as an American studying at Maynooth in the early 90's. I come from New York, and experiencing Christmas in a monocultural society in which my ancestors came from was an altogether wonderful and enriching experience.

I'd take "depressing old Ireland" any day of the week over the God-less, multicultural, consumer-driven, E.U.-induced nightmare which it has become.

  • @downmyneck More like the Blue Oyester in Police Academy!!!!

  • It's like a dose of depression lasting 1 minute 15 seconds!!
