Don't think that you can get in the race without any experience in racing. They won't let you in. You first have to get a licence and compete in another fia/fim rallye.

And true, you can crash out the first day or simply finish to late and you are out of the race.

Money? minimum expect € 60000,- for a motocycle and at least 250000,- for a car race.

But its a life time experience. Been 2 times in Dakar. Unforgettable.

@hellspawndarkangel No...its not true. Registration yes but they decide wheather you join it or not. They dont want to give a numberplate to any idiot with a bag full of money. But if you did an FIM event it will be quite a good argument.

not "anyone".. anyone can register, but first you need a vehicle that is so expensive that you would effectively need to be sponsored anyway and enough knowledge, including mechanical and weather + lots of experience, even guys that you dont hear of train for the whole of the year leading up to the race, you need to be mentally and physically steel strong. OR... if you have those few tens of thousands of euros, you can register, enter and..crash the first day.
