"Uzbeks have drunk my battery fluid!" is maybe my favorite line in the history of television.
-
Whenever someone says "you lose" my friends would add... "COMRADE!"

@ignoranceandwant Don't make a martyr of them, comrade!

I remember watching this when it aired in the late 70's. We pissed ourselves laughing at this weird Canadian TV show we got living near the Ontario border.
This show has never been surpassed by anything not even early SNL which was great.

My friends and I used to sing this whenever we did Vodka shots - which was often! Hey Giorgy!!!

This episode was shot in Edmonton, Alberta (Canada) and it is poking fun at a popular Canadian show in the 1970's called The King Of Kensignton. In "KIng of Kengsington" the intro shows him walking around town and being friendly and helpful to everyone. I love this episode of SCTV!!!!!
The chuch is actually St. Josephats Ukarainian Catholic Church on 97 Street.

The thing that makes SCTV so funny even nowadays is it's humour is largely non topical where other sketch show often took the flavour of the week and made fun of that.

The "you lose... comrade" is a reference to a supposed story about President Calvin Coolidge. Someone bet "Silent Cal" they they could get more than two words out of him, to which he answered "you lose."
