@josh2josh The warlock is not addiction, the warlock is the power structure that expolited him and forced him to keep making art so they could make money off him. It represents the promotoers, brokers, and gallery owners, not addiction. It represents the society that he hated, that he mocked, and made him so uneasy with being a "star". Talking about the real life Basquiat, that is what it means. The movie Basquait is not quite accurate, yet well played.
Addiction has nothing to do with this.

i too cried at the end,the movie is so inspiring this and Raging Bull are the only movies that made me cry,titanic is nothing compared to this!
this ending makes me cry. every time. i cant explain it. this is the most amazing movie ever. there is a god. this ending is everything to me.

The prince he speaks of here is himself. Prince = Basquiat. The Warlock that imprisons the prince is Basquiat's addiction. Warlock = Addiction. The crown the prince wore was Basquiat's art, his spirit, and his beauty. Crown = Basquiat's Art. Think of that and watch it again.
