The Conservative Dem Lib govt has changed the whole argument re Nimrod, which will be no more . . In MRA4 or any other variant. Apparently Cameron, and his Deputy Pm (a representative of the limp-wristed pro-Europe Lib Dems), and Cameron's hopeless Defence Minister, think that the Uk as a island nation and dependant on global sea trade, doesn't need airborne long-range ASW or anti-surface strike. It's up there with Duncan Sandys 'no manned aircraft' screwup. Defence vandalism by idiots.

@vnck25 Over my dead body, Fritz - over my dead body!

Hahaha probably not far from the truth mate, I bet his knowledge of clouds makes him the life & soul of any party. That's assuming (a) he has friends (highly unlikely given the meteorologists I've met in my time) and (b) he actually gets invited to parties in the first place....

Shut the fuck up you slimey cunt. I bet u are 40 years old and live in your mothers basement

Whats the deal with including a crashed nimrod r1? i thought that was just a maintenace fault?
-
Are you by any chance "Jimmy Jones" the mystery engineer? Who coincidentally is speaking out of his arse.
-
Eink, you are a twat shut the fuck up.
Can somebody explain what GOP Colorado Senator Wayne Allard was doing on BBC television putting the boot in to Nimrod MRA4, when in the US he is known as, " the Invisible Man ", ? The MRA4 has been cancelled, no doubt in part due to the efforts of Mr Allard and it is inevitable that US military and US civilian lives will be more at risk now, than they would have been had the MRA4 been placed in to service. What if London gets nuked because the RAF doesn't have the MRA4, what will Allard say ?

vnck25,,,"the British, no good in building aircraft from the start"/.......are you an idiot? Lightning, Canberra, Vulcan, Concorde, etc etc It is not the airframe that is at fault, but the operating systems like IFR, which was a stopgap fit for the Falklands war. British aviation since the 40s until the 80s have been world leaders! Thats a fact!
