  • great pics and sound... where did you get this recording? I remember Laura singing this song at Royce Hall in UCLA... have never heard mention of it ever since....was this music that was not included on the Spread Your Wings Live recording?

  • @sssirota Bootleg recording of Laura's Christmas show at the Fillmore December, 22 1970. Glad you enjoyed the vid, sssirota.

  • The way Laura sings this, it sounds like a lot like "Sweet Blindness"...

Wish I had this on an actual album--it's that good!

  • when i saw Laura at the Troupadore in Hollywood,,,, after every single song, a guy in the back yelled : sing tom dooley, so after her oncore, he yelled it again, she came back on stage and said - i just have to satify this man and she sang tom dooley - good stuff - you can hear him in the background of a live at the filmore cd, dont remember which song at the moment but you can hear him yell - sing tom dooley - GREAT -- Love this woman,

  • I was there at the Fillmore... one of he stellar moments of my life! and I had a tape recorder with (forgive me!) and was able to share the recording with a "small circle of friends."

  • @kevidw Right on!! Most people don't realize what an innovator she was!

  • denknee, You are totally awesome with your "bootleg recordings of this VERY SPECIAL artist. It tugs my heartstrings again just like her voice and piano always do! Thank you.

  • Love hearing the wild cheering. Her music deserves nothing less.

  • boy oh boy, do the 70's singer/songwriters owe a huge debt to this lady for paving the way...let's give it up for the incomparable Ms Nyro

  • Beautiful. *****

  • I saw Laura sing Tom Dooley at Royce Hall as well, and though this recording is a couple of years later, it brings back that magical period so clearly it gives me chills each time I play it! . Thanks denknee for this amazing gift. Happy New Year!

  • Most excellent and thanks so much, Laura will live forever...
