Rick Gratton shows you how to play modern day groupings and phrasings with threes - fives - sevens and nines.

Rick plays solos, power funk grooves, and concludes this video doing four bar exchanges with Tris Imboden.

  • 0:52 bassdrum on the snare O_O?

  • Rick is a killer player. I along with many Toronto drummer was lucky enough to study with him. This may not be the greatest example of his concept and playing. A curious choice of Hudson Music.

  • If you look up "rick's licks" on youtube, you can see more of this clip he speeds it up and expands on this. This snippet isn't indicative of this guy's badassery.

  • He is funny.
