The court ruled that employers have to pay compensation to unfairly dismissed migrant workers. Winter 2007, a Burmese worker T had an argument with Korean co-worker. The argument soon turned into cursing and swearing as a consequence, only T was fired by the employer. T appealed to the employers together with five other co-workers from Burma however, all of them lost job for making a complaint. They were on the brink of becoming undocumented workers since the employer did not even allow them to change workplace. They went to visit their agency, they had been paying monthly maintenance fee to but it was no use. Finally, they came to Seoul in search of help and managed to get discharge allowance and wages in arrears with the help of an immigrant support group. They were even allowed to change their workplace. However, they decided to go to law against the employer for damages to make sure this kind of unfair discharge will not occur again. One year long trial finally came to a conclusion last May. Incheon district court ordered the employer to pay compensation to the six Burmese
