Don't know where you get your information from but apparently your Australian so you should know that the Pontiac G8 is BUILT and FULLY ASSEMBLED in LEFT-HAND DRIVE with PONTIAC BADGES at the Elizabeth Plant in South Australia,
Do you have any idea how much it would cost GM to import 30,000 Holden Commodores to the US each year then have to convert them to left hand drive and replace the body kits and badges?.
Also the "American engine" is made in Mexico.
