Gustav Mahler (1860-1911) composed in his youth a piano quartet movement (1876) and left some sketches of an unfinished Scherzo. Lühl completed this Scherzo in the young Mahlerian style and put two additional movements together in order to present a full length piano quartet.

  • buen trabajo!

  • beautiful cello opening

  • Did you hear it ? Hints of the last movement of the 9th Symphony. A little hint of the 3rd movement of the 6th Symphony. I feel these germs were mixed with the enfuence of fellow student Hans Rott to latter produce the Mahler style.

  • I love the introduction that the cellist plays so gorgeously.

    Bravissimi!
