whoever was driving the tow-car is obviously not too bright. He was going waaaay too fast....

I have done this up to 50mph. The bike is responsible for keeping in the line of the hitch, keeping tension on the line. The car is responsible for not going too fast around corners causing the bike to go off line.

I have done this up to 50mph. The tow has to be to the frame of the bike - not impeding the steering of the bike. the bike has to keep in the line of the hitch. The bike has to keep tension on the line. I probably wouldn't want to do it for more than 10 mins nor do a load of stop-starts.
