  • Not a "poor imitation", 'cresentltd'. This TV version had NOTHING to do with the original radio show (other the characters, and the fact they lived in "Wistful Vista"). Creator Don Quinn and his writers [including Phil Leslie and Ralph Goodman] weren't involved with the show- you had writers like Bill Davenport {who wrote for Ozzie & Harriet Nelson on radio} and Hugh Wedlock & Howard Snyder {who occasionally wrote for Jack Benny}...and sorely missing were Jim & Marian Jordan!

  • All in all this is pretty poor imitation of the radio show, it was just another 1950's domestic comedy by now.

  • Originally telecast on September 29, 1959 under the sponsorship of Standard Brands {Chase & Sanborn coffee}, with The Singer Company {Singer sewing machines} as "alternate sponsor".
