The Copa America, football's oldest international tournament kicks off on June 26 in Venezuela, the only country in South America where baseball is officially more popular than football. That has not stopped the government pumping in plenty of investment. As part of a Sportsworld special Andy Richardson finds all the country now needs is a decent showing from the home side.

  • ahh..another thing, the video was just based on Caracas,we all know Caracas was not 100% ready, why didn't they show the rest of the stadiums??

  • it's funny that certain people looses his objectivity and tried to attack Copa America Venezuela 2007 for political reasons...All I know is that Conmebol said this one had been the best copa america ever, and the journalist Cristobal Guerra is kinda hurt cause no one saw la copa in his channel,Venevision!

  • yeah, exactly like in the gold cup when the ref sentenced that mieterious off side to canada,, the one that cost them the goal against the USA

  • jajaj mas nada awuante rojo awuante vinotinto dale dale rojoooooooooooooo

  • It's fascinating to see Venezuela join the international community and decide to host events of this caliber. Copa America has been going 100 years and this is the first time Venezuela has decided to take a chance hosting it. So I offer a big 'Congratulations' to everyone that had anything to do with getting the tournament here. You never know what you can do until you try, keep it up!!!

  • This is a report very good. Venezuela as a country is very nice and we have the wishes to do our best, But the Chavez' administration is so bad and the evidence of it is wherever. Hugo Chavez is the Worst president of the hole Latin America. I'm Venezuelan so I can Say this without any fear about getting wrong

  • Y2ANJ... the refs.... are not even Venezuelan, so you're trying to say that the FIFA is like a prostitute that would do anything for money? you gotta be kidding, If you saw the game against bolivia, a ref didn't call a very obvious penalty and venezuela would have won the game, but it didn't happen... you need to be more objective about this sport

  • Y2ANJ.. Venezuela was superior all the game, they had the ball possesion, they did the most shooting, they were better. And stop saying chavez bought the referee cause in the game against Bolivia, the ref. didnt call a clear penalty. And Chavez is an asshole.. Vzla won fairly.
