Colin McRae Dirt 2 Demo - Avatar in the Car - Morocco - Ounila Descent 3:02:43

The Dirt 2 demo is out on the xbox 360 and, looking around the settings, I found the wonderful feature that lets you have a dangling toy version of your Avatar in the car!

As you can see I have an unusual avatar but seeing this I think it would make a great little real life toy. It totally reminded me of the Sonic The Hedgehog dangling toy in the old arcade game Rad Mobile, it bumps and bounces around perfectly. Now what's next? Having the avatar in the car driving or acting as navigator?

The Rally time trial Ounila Descent in Morocco is my favourite of the 2 demo events and this is the hardest difficulty so the AI times are as fast as they go. I've only played a couple of hours so far so I'm pretty happy with my 3rd place time right now. Certainly can do it under 3 minutes.

My fastest lap is around 3:08:15-20 maybe. But that's my best :S i can't beat the "computer" on hardcore mode, just impossible. I mostly find myself on 7th place.

I don't know what camera angle you drive with but once you know the course the in car view helped me go faster. I did end up getting a 2:56 I think and beat the AI.

As long as you don't nake a bad mistake you don't have to change gears much in manual.

You on the 360? One of the reasons I made the vid was to show my avatar made into the toy. There are some options for the car interior in the settings and you can choose to have your avatar swinging around.

I'd quite like one for my keyring having seen it :)

I usually use the "Hood" camera angle. gives me sort of space and gives me a kind of far point of view. But that's just me. Feels kinda crowded sometimes in the "driver seat" camera, allthough i think it's VERY cool.

Btw my best time is with an automatic gearbox, manual might do the job.
