SVD rifle with 7N1 sniper cartridges may not produce more than 1.04 MOA extreme vertical spread with 320 mm twist rate barrels. The extreme vertical spreads for the SVD are established by shooting 5-shot groups at 300 m range.
The accuracy requirements demanded of the SVD with sniper grade ammunition are similar to the American M24 Sniper Weapon System with M118SB cartridges (1.18 MOA extreme vertical spread)
People say the SVD is inaccurate, i guess they just need to practice.

Muzzle break ,bet your shoulder hurt.
With good ammo the Drag is a good sniper, not the best but very good.I was waiting to see if the
cold war ammo mis fired.

nice how gun city puts this on thier page

@powmful its not that it's inaccurate, its just that the muzzle climb from an ak is that much worse when you put it on steroids. thats why I got a mosin for this caliber. (that and the price)

Any recent retakes with 150 grain handloads?
Tiger has no gas regulator and different muzzle brake. Little worse than original SVD.

@Gangster88232 Legion Tigrs have been sold here in NZ factory standard with both. The gas regulator is two stage - standard gas port opening to extra large gas port opening. Both are easily swapped on on/off.

What rifle has better groups svd or m305 m14?
What rife do you like better?
mohawksniper79 6 months ago
@mohawksniper79 I prefer the Dragunov. I've had better success with groups out of the Dragunov and the scope mounting system is considerably better. The design of the Dragunov is simpler and easier to strip down. The m305 M14 is more of a battle rifle design and the scope mounting system is troublesome. Apparently it was added as an afterthought to the original design which doesn't surprise me. In contrast the Dragunov is a marksman's rifle and was never issued as a main infantry weapon.

7.62x54, that's a .308 correct?
gekkoguy911 6 months ago
@gekkoguy911 No, 7.62x51 is the dimension of .308 which is a western round.
