Zimbabwe has had elections, but whether they were fully democratic is more than disputable. And him taking land from white farmers is not the whole problem. The problem was that the land was given away so suddenly, and education was not used effectively, to the extent that the farms produced much much less, and the economy collapsed as a result of increased demand, and vastly decreased supply.
