Thank you for this wonderful film The Carthusians are truly blessed. May God keep them safe.

That is indeed true. Also the German Charterhouse has no lack of young men testing their Carthusian vocation. Looking at other orders, the Carthusian should not worry too much about "growing old" and "dying out" - yet we talk here of one of the smallest orders of Roman-Catholic Church.
God bless you!

reforms of catholic church were needed at vatican 2. such as , ending the belief in the "blood libel" of the jews, the false teaching of the killing of simon ot trent by jews to get his blood, the support of facsists , etc. as Jesus told Peter." Get behing me SATAN, for your concerned with the things of MAN, not of GOD

The traditional Catholics as you call them would tell you that, according to traditional Catholic teaching, heretics cannot be Pope.
-
Well I was born after Vatican II, but I probably would have opposed the reforms made. However, it is perilous to split from the Bishop of Rome. And because the Church carried out the reforms, it must have been the will of God. Was it not the last recognized pope, by traditional Catholics, Pope Pius XII who espoused Papal infallibility? Papal Infallibility and sedevacantism are irreconcilable. God works actively through the Church, even during Vatican II.

The Church should not have to change for the people, the people should change for the Church and Christ their Saviour. I find it shocking because the religion changed so much because of VII, that some people who lived pre-VII, if being honest, believe it is almost a new religion. It's also ridiculous how indifferent most Catholics are to religion nowadays. Most Catholics are not even Catholic and you tried to tell me that the reforms made helped prevent more people from losing their faith!
-
@Northbound89 I said that reforms in general were necessary and still are necessary. Since times change and people change, and faith is shaped by people and the time they live in. It's useless to deny that. Many reforms Vatican II did, were necessary. Some weren't. And others Vatican II bishops didn't dare to touch, but it would've been better if they had.
-
Are you saying the reforms made by Vatican II were necessary?
-
@Northbound89 If the Church hadn't changed, more people had lost their faith. It's nothing about modernisation or not, it's about applying the faith to a changed environment. That traditional orders or groups don't lack offspring, is due to the general crisis of the Church being torn between her (misunderstood) past and a general disorientation in the variety of postmodern world.
-
If other Orders are suffering it's because they modernized when the Carthusians did not. The Church has modernized since Vatican II, and I believe that it's no coincidence that people are losing the faith.

Long live Chartusian Order. This world needs their prayers now more than ever.
Thank you for the video.
The music is from the site of Parkminster monastery isn't it?

No, it's taken from the movie "Into Great Silence". Probably the monks of Parkminster have recorded the same chants for their website (as the liturgy and the Divine Office is the same), but these chants in my video are recorded in La Grande Chartreuse.
