I am so pleased that this place was saved from all of the development that has happened around there in the last 146 yrs. It is mind boggeling how brave and selfless these people on both sides of this were. What a tragic and horrible but unfortunately necessary war that was. What would become of modern Americans who were called upon to sacrifice like they did? Don't answer that we all know the answer.
What a spirit in the union army. We owe these men more than words can say.
