Tharanga Goonetilleke:
An award winning Soprano, Sri Lankan musician Tharanga Goonetilleke is based in New York. She is the first Sri Lankan woman to be accepted to the prestigious Julliard School in New York. Tharanga obtained the dual degrees of Master of Music and Artistic Diploma. She also has a bachelor of Music degree from Converse College. Spartanburg, SC, USA with a minor in Biology. Tharanga's Operatic Highlights include Mimi in La Boheme (Puccini), Pamina and the First Lady in Die Zauberflöte (Mozart), title role of Iphigénieen Aulide (Gluck), Anotonia in Les contes d'Hoffmann (Offenbach. Ginevra in Ariodante (Handel) and Blanche in The Dialogues of the Carmelites by Poulenc. During the past year, she made her debut with the New York City Opera as Resi in Intermezzo by Strauss.
