Another installment of my arts and crafts featuring my current muse, Zachary Quinto, and his characters Sylar and Spock. I cover easy laminates. There are several materials on the market that cover items to encase them in a plastic shell. These are my current experiments and results.

Of course, you can substitute any pictures that give you bliss...or your current obsession.
I hope you try some crafts. Message me for instructions. They were too long to post here.

  • do you have a video that shows how to pre-treat paper? When you pre-treat paper does it stay in shape or does it run?

  • @eastsaintlouis62203 Sorry, I don't have a vid that shows how to do that yet. I cut portions of the paper and paint a thin layer on with a sponge brush. Let dry. Turn over and do back. Let dry. I then put another coat on the top in an opposite direction.

PS. Hoping to get an actual video camera and getting a friend to record more details.

Thanks for watching my video. Take care now.

  • hello where can I buy that diamond glaze? is that availble here in the philippines thank you

  • @touchofcreation I bought a large bottle on Ebay. They probably ship to the Phillipines. Glossy Accents (found in scrapbooking section) and Triple-thick (found near paints & glazes) work pretty good too. They might have those where you live.

  • @MetalKittyOTF Thank You!!!!!!!!!!! Very much!!!!!!!!! I purchased a big box and ... a little applicator - bottle. I hope this will not make much bubbles - the bottle... Do You think I should leave the bottle to settle after filling it? How long You think? It is plastic and soft... hm...

  • @vivifies By dome, I mean overfill it a tiny bit so the fluid forms a small dome in the middle. It tends to settle in as it drys and forms a concave (inward toward the pic) if you don't 'dome' it.

You have to work quickly with any bubbles or fibers. Once it starts to set-up, it's hard to fix those problems. Yes, move them to the side with the tip of a pin. BTW..I'm trying to get a friend to make a vid of me demonstrating the techniques. Hopefully, that will also help.

  • @MetalKittyOTF Thank You a Loooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just not sure what let it dome a little mean... Looked for that word in the dictionary... ? Does it mean to put some extra material? You are so helpful !!! Do You mean to push the material to the edges horizontally when I have fibers, with a pin?

  • @vivifies I use the Diamond Glaze to coat the pics front and back, then glue it to a backing; cardboard, scrapbooking paper, etc. When dry, glue the frame on and trim to size. Using the thicker laminate (Triple-thick or Glossy accents) let drip slowly in a circular motion onto the center of the pic and work your way to the edges. Let it dome a little. Immediately place it on a level surface. Watch for bubbles and fibers; work both off to the edge with a pin.

  • @MetalKittyOTF I've got the Triple Thick. How do You actually cover pics before using the glue? I prefer after, but some of the frames don't have corners. so I need to know? Thanks a lot! Do You think I need to know something more about the triple Thick? Thanks! ;)

  • @vivifies Depends on your use. A thicker, more resilient is Triple-thick (it and Glossy Accents) are easier to find and both work great as a thick glaze. Diamond Glaze needs a barrier since it seems thinner. IT does work great to coat the pics (front and back) before adhereing to something else. I work the glue off with my thumb and it doesn't effect the dried Diamond Glaze.

Remember to watch for air bubbles and move them off with a pin.
