this song works quite well for the simple beat structure. The chorus is half the speed yet in the same time signature as the verses. I know of no other songs (althoguh i suspect others will) who have the same pattern. Much mocked yet they still have style.

I think they skipped Saturday to maintain the two syllable, two-beat repetition of the ending. Also, Horace and his wife needed alone time for themselves and Saturday was available.
