For fun I've tested voice recognition at a very high speed. This is almost 200 words per minute with 100% accuracy, using Dragon Naturally Speaking. In real life I never dictate this quickly because I can't think of what I want to say this quickly!

  • You weren't speaking at 200 WPM. I would say more like 115-120 WPM.

  • it's 96 words in 33 seconds = almost 200 WPM

  • lestep, can I ask how long you've trained (or how long you already had) the program when you did this video. I only had it for three days now, and I'm only getting about 80% accuracy from common used words and about 65% from rarely used ones. Though I already had the program training for quite a bit. Any idea how long before I can achieve this rate of accuracy.

  • Sorry for the delay in my reply - I only just noticed your comment! It shouldn't take long at all to dictate with this accuracy - maybe 20 minutes? If you're getting low accuracy I would suspect:

    - your headset (is there noise interference in your soundcard? try a USB headset - I used the Plantronics DSP 400 - designed for voice recognition and it bypasses your sound card altogether).

  • nice,I can do this 3 times for 1 min

  • Even youtube captions are 99% accurate in this video. But if you watch other....

  • @udupiboy use a microphone and headphones. put the microphone inbetween the headphones and squash it in there and the blast your audio so it recognizes the audio in the recording. (thats only thing i can think of anyway)

  • Can you please tell me if I can use my speakers to convert a audio file into text file? I have a recording which I want to convert to text but not sure if this product only works on the users speech.

  • awesome

  • You sound like a computer XD

  • There are two errors that I saw. It missed the word "at" when you said "at which", it took down "you" instead of "you're".

  • which version of dragon naturally speaking are you useing???

  • I don't know if that was actually 200 words per minute, but I've found the same as you - if you know what you want to say beforehand you can dictate very fast. I use version 11.5 and I've got a few videos up showing how it works.

I've also found that with a good microphone you can get maybe 95%+ accuracy. By good microphone I don't mean the cheap piece of plastic they include with the software. I don't rate those at all.
