  • Thank you for sharing these wonderful recordings. Just wondering, is there any film out there of Sofronitsky playing live? There seems to be plenty of Richter,

  • I hope there is some footage, but I've never seen any... It would be so great actually to see Sofronitsky playing!

  • Does anyone else hear a little bit of Vadim Kozin here?

    This playing is pure poetry.....

  • Qu'est-ce qu'on y'a pas fait a chopin ! Vous imaginez : 200 ans de piano les plus sordides !

  • Bravo!!Thank you.

  • il est avec moi, dans mon lit.

  • as a pianist familiar with a large part of the literature -- and having worked with singers , opera and lieder, etc - i am so pleased to hear a pianist that actually makes me CRY from his playing the way great singers have. heplays the chopin as if a singer does from DEEP inside their gut and breathing...what a GIFT Sofronitsky was!!! THANK YOU TRUECRYPT for sharing.

  • Sofronitsky was one of the rare pianists that played LIKE a SINGER. not in "imitation of" singers -- but as someone who actually understood how a singer would breathe, how much time they need to take breathe, how LONG they can sustain when they have to use up air between intense strong notes and soft, concentrated soft ones..how a good singer "lifts" notes or climbs from low to high..how to fill the space between large intervals and from small close intervals..HE was a TRUE singer at the piano.

  • Loved it,so natural and so relaxed!

  • very special playing...Sofronitsky brings you into the inner world and lets you see the beautiful soul...after it's over, you'll not want to come out and you'll always long to return...
