US senator says no-fly zone is 'likely'

Chuck Schumer, a US democratic senator, has said that imposing a no fly zone on Libya "is more likely" because the Arab League supports the move.

@bbenjoe If the U.N. OKs local intervention; it will be interesting to see if the Arab League can put it's money where it's mouth is. Russia went ahead & invaded Georgia a while ago without U.N. sanction. (Russia is now the top producer of oil; Saudi Arabia is now 2nd. They would reap the benefits of a long-term Libya dysfunction.)

@MarceloRodrigues1 right now the rebels are losing, if we don't step in soon it is game over. I doubt that Gaddafi will be merciful to the losers. there will be a genocide if we don't step in. Time and time again the western world drops the ball on when we should interfere. Rwanda, Darfur and Sudan have deaths in the hundreds of thousands all done by dicators. what is stopping Gaddafi from doing the same?

@Greginda11 Fair enough. But shouldn't we account for the signs which say "no help needed'? They know that if they get outside help they'll have to handle the control of the oil away. Moreover, when it's in doubt many of the alleged attacks one shhould double the concerns on the real interests behind this no-fly zone.
