Pretzel is a 6 month old lab mix that was rescued from down south and fostered in a quiet suburban neighborhood was adopted and brought to the big city. She has had a hard time adjusting, so Best Friends Dog Training NYC has been working with her to both teach her obedience and boost her confidence around distracting stimuli. Pretzel is particularly fearful of loud noises and things on wheels (rolling luggage, bicycles, strollers) and trucks and busses. The video was taken a little more then half way through her training and already pretzel is showing great improvement. Go get em Pretzel!!
@freddydiamonds I completely understand your frustration. It's amazing how people can think that's acceptable behaviour. You wouldn't just grab someone's baby out of their stroller, right? So why pick up someone's dog...?
Sounds like you're doing a great job by being patient and not forcing her. Congratulations :)

I have a Chihuaha a tiny dog in NYC, and it is difficult. Each day I take her to Central Park to play with other dogs, but the park has no "official dog zone" when we walk around stupid people want to pick her up, bark at her, play with her, conatantly....the dog gets over excited, stimulated and eventually sits down and I have to patiently wait for her to feel ready to walk without pressuring her...I feel terrible that hundreds of people approach my tiny dog and overwhelm her. sighh people
