Does SAM also need this mp3 license crap that winamp requires?

@Phr33d0m Thanks for responding! I will stick to Winamp to get the station up and running.

guy you rocked.... nice and simple. great choice on your background music and if people didn't understand much on this very str8 forward tutorial. perhaps learning how to use a computer first , should be the real tutorial they should be looking for it..... kudos to you!!

Windows Media Player does *NOT* (currently) support this kind of streaming.
Also I'm unaware if they fixed it in the versio 2 of Shoutcast but I doubt it as it's up to the encoding of the file.

it would help if you zoomed in so everyone could see what you clicking on plus go buy a mic

@BrushCountryJamboree
It's perfectly viewable even at 320p :-| and you can expand the window at 720p though. Btw english is not my first language and I wouldn't want to speak on a mic, but thanks for the suggestion :P

Hi. I am interested in starting an internet radio station and I was wondering what your thoughts are on Winamp, Virtual DJ and SAM Broadcaster? I currently have Winamp installed, but I discovered Virtual DJ at the store today. It looks pretty nice and the price is much more attractive than SAM. Thanks!

@ohigan It mostly depends on what are your needs and with which you feel more comfortable. For my personal radio I use SAM Broadcaster, but Winamp is just good as well.

@jessidean90
If you follow this tutorial, the stream is hosted on your own system. You can see your IP at cmyip.com
