I've used Windows Vista and Windows 7 and I can tell you that Vista seems much more prone to problems and feels so much slower. I've upgraded people's computers to Windows 7 and they've never came back to me wanting me to fix it again. It's much better.

Vista was a little annoying at SP1, but when SP2 came, it was a big improvement, and since I'm more literate using Vista, it's really not so bad, i really don't mind UAC, windows 7 is better in some aspects, but vista was a huge step from XP

So the people were brainwashed into using vista because of some features they didn't know. Vista was and is shit. Windows 7 is good. That has corrected the problems of Vista which didn't like hardware or software and which was full of annoying bugs. Also Vista is slow.

I actually like vista. At it's present state (SP1, SP2, and all other updates) running on a stout system, like my gaming pc, it's a pretty graceful OS. I really just like the way it looks better than windows 7 to be honest. I don't like the flat taskbar and small start button in 7. I think they had it right in vista, but had to change the look to set 7 apart. Plus aero seemed softer and more subtle in vista

Loved my Vista O/s until it committed sepuku (Hari Kari for all of you in Rio Linda) then went to Ubuntu 10.10 to have a working computer. Just re-did a friend's newbie sister last night on an e-machines ET 1300 series desktop last night. Too many "free downloads" gave her a ransom ware that didn't let me use emachines own restore program. She is now Linux, enjoying a "faster computer" as part of the bargain. It was good enough. People who were ripping it didn't really know what the hell they were talking about. However Windows 7 is the perfection of Vista. There's really no point of staying with XP anymore. With no support for DX 11 Windows XP is worthless.

I think Vista was better then what people gave it credit for but still not perfect...it was huge leap with all kinds of features and I would take it over XP anytime because of all the features on it....I mean do people forget at how unsafe XP was with viruses and how it to locked up, also how about Windows ME???Remember those days???When I think of ME I think of the New Coke...:o

Every time Vista would screw up, me and my friends would sing OH MOJAVE!!!!

Obviously if you use it just ONE time it's going to seem amazing. It's when you have it for some time and the glitches, and programming errors happen that you hate it.
Mac was fail up until they used Unix kernels for their OS. They haven't changed anything for 8 years... also, not doing anything but facebook would be your average Mac user.
I for one use Windows, cause they offer something like gaming, 3D modelling, scripting/coding that for sure your Mac fail at (look at all their OS's up until OSX).
Talking about stealing stuff, Apple is going to court because of copyrighted patents used in 90% of the iPhone (one which is Multitouch).

Why pay for a GUI on top a bug infested system? If you want the cutting edge in aesthetics on top a stable system... If you're tired of paying for software that you'll never truly own... If you live by the philosophy that software is only as good as the community which creates it and perfects it, then why not free yourself from M$ oppression? Linux is knocking at your door.
