If you don't want to use a pc try the NetTalk tk6000. It uses an almost identical tigerjet device and service costs the same. If you orded it online now it comes with lifetime service. All you do is plug it into a power outlet, then into the ethernet port of a modem or router, and lastly plug in a phone. Once the phone rings, its ready. You can also plug it into a computer although there is know softphone program that alows you to use your computer's sound system.

Only when you want to make or recieve calls. Otherwise they are sent to voicemail or forwarded. You can check voicemail fom another phone if its off too.

magicjack is the best thing they ever made!!!!!!!! the only problem im having is that i cant play games full screen bc the phone stop working! but is really good for people who dont use the computer a lot!! so buy it, its cost me $29.99 in RADIOSHACK

Those words, "You must call now,..." are usually interchangeable with "Consumer beware!"

so technically if ur on the internet and some1 calls u, i imagine the internet shuts off. y would u want that. buy a cell phone. its like 20 bucks more

My internet doesn't shut off when I receive a phone call. Maybe you need a new computer?

My cell phone costs at least 50 bucks a month, I pay 20 bucks a year for this and it works exactly like a home phone for me. Either way, my cell doesn't work in the basement and I like to be able to use my cordless phone.
