Recipe: http://www.healthyveganrecipes.net/video/spanish-chickpea-recipe This vegetarian Spanish chickpea recipe uses delicious spices. Chickpeas are quite different from most other beans in their shape and texture, and are very receptive to flavors. They have a decent amount of calcium in them, along with the protein and fiber that most beans have going for them. They are used often in healthy vegetarian recipes.

  • Hello Heather, I am thrilled to inform you that I LOVED IT. It actually came out good.

I guess I am really learning. I am happy. This is my 3rd recipe so far from you.

Going for a new one tomorrow or the next day. I really love this one, but it takes a while to cut them up. etc etc. I am not good as you yet on the cutting. You're fast!

  • @thugricanz That's excellent, so glad you are liking what you're making! That's the best way to get good at it - when you like the results, it's much more motivating than if you didn't like it.

It does take a bit of time to cut, but you may notice that I cut that part out of the video... not too exciting! The more you practice, the faster you'll get.

Ingredients are key to maing not only healthy but delicious meals, so they are definitely the main focus for me.

    Keep me posted!

  • I am sorry for asking this question, but how did you get all these recipes?

You made them up or what. Even if you didn't , you're still professional. If I can estimate, you have over 100 recipes! Am I exaggerating? Lol

  • @thugricanz No problem, I'm actually glad you asked! I usually start recipes by what is in season (& hence a good price...) at the market or the store. From there, I think of what combination of vegetables I want, and if I want a grain or a bean with them. Then I think of what seasoning I want on them, and what cooking method would work best.

I do have cookbooks, and I use them as inspiration for flavor ideas, but I almost never follow the recipe printed. Not quite 100 videos yet... ;)

  • I've never tried egg plant, but all those spices made it sound reaaaaally yummy!

  • @EmberflyLayouts You know, I never used to like eggplant because when I'd had it it wasn't cooked properly. This dish was one of my favorites, so I hope you enjoy it!
