We can't get along, because if there is a group of humans, they soon want to show other groups that "our group is the best" and they start to treat others like they were rivals. In fact, this kind of behaviour is natural for humans, this made evolution possible, only the strongest survived. But in the modern world we don't need to compete. Nowadays we need our brains more than our bodies.

I have a cat that kills rabbits and mice, but leaves the squirrels I feed alone. He got bitten by one, and doesn't like messing with them anymore. Unfortunately, he got one of the young ones the other day. He's was a ferrel cat, so I don't expect good behavior all the time. I wish he was more like this guy.
