There are NO DVD's of Prisoner anywhere in the world that present the 1979/early 1980 episodes with the first two 'Channel 10' logos. The first one reads: 'for the C10 network' (the number 10 is squeezed between the large letter C) and the second one had two variations and was sort of in the style of a 70's/80's bedside digital clock, first version read: '10 Melbourne', second version read: 'network 10'. All other Channel 10 logos from 1980-86 were occasionally retained on DVD releases.
@Summerskill I watched an early episode of Prisoner on 111 Hits (Foxtel) recently, and it had the gold channel 10 logo with the map of Australia in the closing credits. Every other episode I have seen has the old 0-10 logo
@chris223b So far on the UK release of the DVD boxsets of Prisoner, I have only seen the original Ten logo with the map of Australia twice, and the other times they have chopped the original Ten logo out and replaced the Ten logo with the gold rimmed circle filled with blue and the word "Ten" inside the circle in gold.
Just to add, I have finished volume 5 which ends on episode 160, when Bea gets knocked out in the corridor by an unknown assailant. Voulme 6 out this month. Yay! :o)
A really effective way to end the episode there, it's a shame that special closing sequences weren't bothered with in the later years of the series. Sadly it looks like that 1990 gold 10 logo is now permanently burnt on to these early episodes with the original one removed.
Sad scene. Is Meg standing on the very spot that Bill was stabbed? Looks like it with the three converging gates. Looking at this, it may have been nice to have the final credits for the final ep roll over Meg doing the gates one last time since she was the lone survivor. Might have been a nice honor for her--or all the remaining lead screws--to do the gates as a goodbye.
I guess that Erica felt that Meg couldn't separate personal from professional becuase of what happened to her husband Bill. Erica Davidson was a terrible Wing Governor. She could have gotten People Skills like Helen Stewart and Frances Myers from Bad Girls.
