  • I want the song's lyrics! Anyone here has an idea of where can I get it?? O.O

  • Aye, just Google "runrig lyrics" and click on the Jim Wilsher website that'll be near the top of the list...

  • scotlands first language should be Scottish Gaelic !

  • Here's a fact - Scotland contributes 9% of the BBC licence fee and gets 3% of BBC spending. So yes, like most things, Scotland is paying for it, more than paying for it. I'd much rather Scottish licence fee money went to this rather than subsidising BBC jobs and employment in London or anywhere else south of the border (which given that we contribute far more than we get back, we are currently doing).

  • @gramule No, not very selective percentiles. The facts. We could look at the whole picture of taxes, subsidies and grants etc........... but we don't have to. The United Kingdom's Statistics Agency does that for us. And lo and behold it shows that Scotland raised 9.4% of the UK's total revenue and gets 9.3% of the UK's spending. And that doesn't take into account the Licence Fee subsidy that we provide to the BBC in London.

  • @globaltraveller lol. very, very selective percentiles. let us look at the whole picture of subsidies, taxes, grants etc. etc. etc, ie. if the uk left scotland 'high and dry'.theres another fact. hope this helps. greetings from morningside.

  • SAOR ALBA!

  • @easy1355 Yes it is a beautiful song...........But the language is not useless its lovely.

  • @DBDuncan1234 Your spellings ok

  • This video is with the lyrics+translation. It's a little different from the Runrig's version:

    RUNRIG:ALBA(BBC ARRANGEMENT VERSION W/ SUBTITLES )

  • This video is with lyrics+translation:

    oPd-Ve5j1ao

It's a little different from the Runrigs' version.

  • @easy1355 Not a useless language, a fairly large language within the country that was nearly wiped out by people who made the Gaels feel inferior and outlawed the culture. But fortunately Gaelic is on the rise again. 59 Scottish schools are Gaelic medium, in 1975 there were 2 Gaelic speaking schools in Scotland. That is progress, hard fought progress, but still progress. If you are a Gael you can speak to the Irish, people from Isle of Man, people from Nova Scotia, people from Canada, etc.

  • As a massive Runrig fan I have to say i prefer this arrangement

    to the original

  • Fantastic song, great pictures. Not really into Scottish stuff yet but this makes me want to be. :-)
