Alice in Chains started off as a glam metal band by the name of Alice N' Chainz, but changed their name in the late 80's. Their debut on Columbia records, Facelift, still had traces of the glam metal sound, but their sophomore effort, Dirt, solidified their own unique sound and the record shifted between slower paced songs like Down In a Hole and Would? to anthemics like Dam That River and Them Bones.

Damn that river - just is the bad ass song from this album. I won c-cassette back then when it came from my best friend in a card game, his cassete versus hole lot more than i could lose, highscool you know. Well, this song was somehow the last wich kicked in, but now everytime i hear those first punches - it is onn!

Only people accept labels out of the irony that labels are stupid and being labeled is discrediting the music by associating it with a scene or adjective that is hollow and mundane in the broad spectrum of music. So tell me why you think YOU know what is a queer band and what isn't -- tell that band they're queer while you're at it, see how they react. Maybe they'll turn you queer afterward.
