  • @yoyochris924 Correlation is not necessarily the same as causation, but it's a very good bet that it is.

  • Correlation is NOT the same as causation

  • @catholicnewsagency Could you please provide references in the video description to the studies you mention? For example any commenter could point out that, with all types of child abuse combined, most acts of child abuse are perpetrated by women. Without a reference from both this statistic, and your statistic, it is hard to see what correlations exist, such as an increase in child abuse from mothers when the father is no longer around. This is just one of many problems from a lack of sourcing.

  • Err biased much?

She even admitted that modern scientists say that there is NO CORRELATION between divorce rates and cohabitation.

I'm guessing people who cohabit and have kids usually have UNPLANNED kids! of course all those problems are going to happen! Geez.

  • A few things to add. In the West, cohabitation is highly risky for men. If you allow a woman to live with you, guys, if you get into an argument there's a good chance she can have you kicked out of your own home or apartment by dialing 911 and accusing you of Domestic Violence, or simply saying that you made her feel afraid. In California, a man was kicked out of his own home for two whole months by his live-in girlfriend on this basis alone.

  • The aim is clearly good, but the focus/style is too negative. The vibe seems slightly "closed-in" and "combative", as if arising from that "Catholic suffering" we endure by being in a culture that constantly attacks our values. It's important as we present the beauty of the Church's sexual teaching that we simultaneously manifest the joy, interior freedom, and personal fulfilment that attends this teaching. That said, thanks for producing this. It's extremely important to focus on this area.

  • I made this mistake, too.

People who cohabit prior to marriage have higher divorce rates and my opinion why is that when the relationship goes down hill the couple thinks marriage will save it.

    Sadly, it won't.

  • what percentage of couples who don't cohabit get a divorce within 5 years?

  • people who cohabit and have children out of wedlock should be excommunicated, right?

  • Thank you. It's good to see a young woman talk about such a thorny issue. I hope other young folk will see this too. Besides fornication being a sin, I thought the emphasis on children commendable because it's "all about" children, as Our Lord Himself said: "Suffer the little children unto me", and if "anyone harm a lttle one"; for which Christ uttered the harshest comdemnation.
