Only when you move the cursor around the screen to selectively zoom in or out of the image... When you record a zoom without moving the cursor (or as little as possible) its much smoother
I added the blur (in combination with the biomorphs, which causes those triangles) to add some sort of feeling of direction and time. You can download Xaos and try it yourself.

Xaos has a way of zooming 'bumpily' when it renders its animations.
