One of my first recorded performances from around 2003. I first started reciting poems at a tiny Open Mic night called "Brix-Tongue" in Brixton, South London. This is where my poetical journey began. This poem was inspired by Marvin Gaye's classic song "What's Going On?" and also addresses a bloody drug war that was being waged at the time in the area. It was also a time when certain members of the Royal Family had been treated for their own addictions. I just used poetry to try and make sense of it all.
