Golf Fitness Guys show you how to stop a sway. A sway is a lateral shift of the pelvis in the backswing and can result in poor contact with the irons and wedges. To learn how to stop swing, start by learning how it will feel, and look, if you make a solid pivot and don't sway. After you've checked out the single leg torso backswing by the Golf Fitness Guys, download our three free programs at http;//www.golfftnessguys.com
@adicia1 That was an old technique of teaching to keep things in line. The head is actually not the center of the swing, the spine is. Your head can shift off to the right some without changing your spine angle your hips can not. Check out Herman Williams video on weight shift and you'll see what i'm talking about.

Watson was just on tv saying how the head shouldn't move in the swing, that the 4 best players in history (woods, nicklaus, hogan, forgot the 4th) had no head movement. When I try not to move my head, I feel like I'm developing a reverse pivot and I get poor contact with the ball. Would you say Watson is incorrect in his statement?

@adicia1 - Thanks for the comment. On 3D data, the thorax moves very little to the top of the backswing with an average of about half an inch away from the target. Your head is definitely allowed to move a bit more than your thorax, with a driver, the average movement is about half a head width. If you have a big head, then that could be a couple inches off the ball at the top of the swing. To learn more, check out our free email course.

upper body lateral motion is ok:? I've noticed I do this and I actually hit the ball better with some upper body sway. My head also moves backward, isn't that bad technique?
