A mi entender FreeBSD es una variante de Unix al igual que Linux, pero BSD tiene mejores licencias que la GPL, según tengo entendido las licencias GPL son libres pero cuando haces una modificación de un programa tienes que presentarla bajo licencia GPL pero si modificas un programa con licencia BSD puedes hacer con el lo que quieras, el BSD tiene un kernel más lijero que linux y no existen tropecientas mil distribuciones del mismo cada una de su padre y su madre etc.

This is just GNOME running on FreeBSD, debian is a linux distro. GNOME can be installed, but I don't remember X being installed by default. If it's debian, then where's APT?
